6 How Do We Pay For This Cool Stuff ? On Friday night of Bavarian Fest, during the new Street Party, comments were repeatedly heard among the crowds of people. Many local people were wondering how all of the free entertainment was provided. You could hear mutters from the crowd of "Who did all of this?" and "Who's paying for it?" And on every Friday night of the summer, during Friday Fun Nights, the free entertainment along Main Street can often trigger the same questions. Sometimes even from those who contribute themselves. It can be a very confusing and difficult thing to communicate while those exciting events are occurring. But if you look closely, you'll likely find signs or recognition that tell you just who contributed to each one. In the case of Friday Fun Nights, there are more than 50 businesses and even a few individuals that donate cash to allow the scheduled entertainers to receive a stipend for their time. And they keep coming back, not just because of the stipend, but because of the tips they receive from the public. This effort takes roughly $9000 per year to keep it going. Clearly, our businesses don't contribute just for the recognition or advertising since most people don't take time to read the sponsorship signs. They do it because they have a commitment to making Frankenmuth a great community, not just to visit or do business in, but to live in. Our business community receives countless requests for donations on a weekly basis, but so many continue to give year in and year out so we can enjoy our town with our families and friends. So, you see, when a business owner asks "Who pays for all this entertainment?" even though they contributed to the effort, it's easy to see how they could forget what this particular event was called or that they contributed to it among all the rest. Please take time to notice the sponsor signs and when you go into those businesses, thank them for helping to make your community so fun. They will appreciate you noticing and it will go a long way in insuring they understand their efforts are valued and should be continued. www.bronners.com Office of Michael Southgate Coleen Hetzner Thank you to these fine supporters of Friday Fun Nights!
