A year of transition, fresh perspectives, learning and growth. That is how I would summarize the 2018-2019 fiscal year at your Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau. In my 10 years as the leader of this amazing organization, we have never experienced the dramatic changes we have this year and I continue to be in awe of how we continue to improve through it all. Being a service-based business, our talent is our greatest asset. Since the start of the fiscal year, half of our team is new. These new faces have brought us opportunities to learn with one another and to seek answers or solutions to new questions. We've improved processes and continue to plan for more exciting changes as we grow to meet the changing needs of our members, visitors and community. There were successes in our program of work this year as well. Our new communication efforts with our partners at the City and Frankenmuth School District have allowed us to distribute a printed business directory of all members to the community for the first time in many years via the Frankenmuth Living (Community Bulletin) Keeper Edition. In addition to training, we forged ahead with development of two new projects that will be launched in early 2020; Frankenmuth Certified, a community education program, and the new Frankenmuth.org website. With the addition of a new PA59 Assessment on our local hotel properties, the marketing budget was the largest in our history allowing the marketing team to tell the Frankenmuth story through our most diverse and comprehensive marketing strategy to date. As we head into 2020, this talented team will execute the aggressive goals approved by the Board of Directors and continue a legacy of bringing value and unity to help Frankenmuth continue to prosper in the new year! Together, with our partners, Frankenmuth shall continue to prosper! Jamie Furbush, CMP President & CEO Letter from the President 2
