mid-week private events for sponsors and a possible mini-mite tournament after the busy Snowfest weekend. The Chamber and CVB is in the process of hiring a new position that will include the responsibility of managing the rink. There will also be a number of part-time, seasonal positions created by the rink and an opportunity for service clubs & organizations to assist and raise funds as well. More details such as an opening night celebration will also be released soon. You can watch the Frankenmuth News or the Frankenmuth Living Facebook group for details as they are released. This year, the new rink is also being supported by a partnership with the Community Foundation's Legacy Ball which is featuring a new event called The Dachshund Derby. The event will take place on September 25th at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant and all proceeds from this fundraiser will help benefit the rink. Plans for that event are well underway, including many incredible sponsorships. Limited individual tickets are available to attend the event and you can call the Chamber at (989) 652-6106 to inquire if any remain. The rink is also supported by advertising on the ice, dasher boards, and around the park itself. The financial success of the rink is important to help build a fund that will sustain the reoccurring expenses of the Christmas Experience beyond year three of the plan. As we head into the holiday season, we are grateful for such a generous business community. In 2020, even during a pandemic, the effort raised nearly $400,000 to execute the three-year plan. If you enjoyed the Christmas Experience and love to tell people about how beautiful and fun our City is during Christmas, remember to take notice of those who have helped make it happen. When you see businesses listed on sponsor signs or promotional materials, know that they made a choice to give money to improve the city we are all proud to live, work, and learn in. As you make buying decisions of your own, consider first offering your support to those who give back to make this all happen. When you notice the list of businesses, you will see we don't mean just doing your holiday shopping at local merchants, but consider where you do business all year-long. Most of our local businesses are locally owned and take the community's support seriously when making these type of investments. The Chamber & CVB are especially grateful for everyone pitching in and doing more than their part to help a small city of 5,000 create experiences that rival major urban destinations and give us an amazing amount of community pride. Christmas in Frankenmuth… it just keeps getting better. We look forward to seeing you around the tree or on the ice soon! ■ If you enjoyed the Christmas Experience and love to tell people about how beautiful and fun our City is during Christmas, remember to take notice of those who have helped make it happen. 16
