I n 2006, Pastor Dale Ahlschwede had a vision that Frankenmuth and the surrounding areas would have access to a distinctively Christian counseling service. He set forth in prayer to make it happen. By surrounding himself with people who could breathe life into this ministry, it took only one year for his dream to come to reality. CrossRoads Counseling Ministries opened to the public at 163 Churchgrove Road in 2007. Pastor Ahlschwede dedicated countless hours of work and oversight to ensuring CrossRoads' early success. After 15 years of diligent and faithful service in numerous roles, Pastor Ahlschwede retired from his work at CrossRoads on May 20th 2021. Matthew 5:9 says, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." For all the peace that has been brought through this ministry to people facing struggles, may Pastor Ahlschwede's retirement be richly blessed. With strong leadership in place, the ministry at CrossRoads shows no signs of slowing down. With thousands of clients having received counsel since its inception, CrossRoads has continued to grow and spread God's peace through their licensed, professional counselors. Office staff standby for new clients who are seeking information and appointments, and counselors are ready to offer compassionate listening, Godly wisdom, and tools to help navigate life's struggles. CrossRoads accepts clients of all ages, couples, and families regardless of their church affiliation or faith status. As the world has navigated many challenges recently, the need for counseling has continued to escalate. The Frankenmuth area is truly blessed to have CrossRoads right in town to support those facing struggles. You may be asking how you can help ensure that this care is always available to those in need. CrossRoads has three ministry opportunities: • Good Samaritan Support Program: individuals who provide financial gifts to help offset the cost of counseling for clients with financial needs. • Prayer Partner Program: a unique service which provides each CrossRoads client with an anonymous prayer partner to lift them in daily prayer. • Sustaining Partner Program: individuals or businesses who provide financial support for general operations at CrossRoads. 1 John 3:18 says "…let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth."
