Frankenmuth

Exploring & Soaring at list elementary ast summer, Frankenmuth School District offered CAMP SUMMER SUCCESS to help make sure our students were on pace to begin the 2021-2022 school year. This year, our program EXPLORE & SOAR was better than ever helping our students prepare for the 2022-2023 school year. Directed by Mrs. Tosha Miller, a 2nd grade teacher at List Elementary and Mrs. Liz Merrihew, a 3rd grade teacher at List Elementary, our program offered engaging activities in addition to curriculum. Five sections were offered to students who were moving into grades 1st-5th this fall. Interest from families was high and all sections were filled to capacity with a waiting list as well. We had approximately seventy five students participate in the program. Teachers for the program were Mrs. Tosha Miller, Mrs. Liz Merrihew, Mrs. Ann Lindow, Mrs. Madison Struble and Ms. Madalyn McKenzie. We also had our librarian Mrs. Jen Grimshaw on staff. The program ran for eight weeks and students participated in reading workshop, writing workshop, phonics instruction, math instruction as well as a daily STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) hands-on activity. All instruction was new content. It was carefully planned to help students rise into the next grade while making learning fun and exciting. With the generous donation from the Frankenmuth Noon Rotary, we were able to send students home with new books every single week that were theirs to keep. What an amazing way to get books into our students' hands and help them foster a love of reading. L EXPLORED & SOARED! EXPLORED & SOARED!
