The Frankenmuth Christmas Experience is now in its third year. It's hard to believe it's been three years since the community and businesses came together to expand how Frankenmuth celebrates the entire season by providing more ways to celebrate every day in all corners of our town. The plan originally focused on moving from one traditional large gathering on one of our busiest days of the year (which wasn't a viable option in 2020) to adding a more cohesive look from one end of town to the other with some big surprises and little magical ones too. All of the combined efforts and activities were neatly packaged in new marketing materials to guide visitors to discover all of the Christmas magic that awaits in Frankenmuth. The first big surprise was the Spectacular Christmas Tree with a music and light show that plays multiple times a day, every day of the season. It was an immediate success in 2020 and is still cherished now in its third season! Last year, one of the new additions was a customized Frankenmuth show, with short but powerful opening words that tie together Frankenmuth's rich history with the real reason for the season. Both of these shows play throughout the day spreading the sweet sound of Christmas all throughout town. T 9 Expanding the Christmas Experience in Frankenmuth has allowed us more opportunities to focus on all of the celebrations and concerts at our local churches as well as to witness the story of Christmas being told by local clergy not once, but twice in the middle of town. The Local Light the Night event was an incredible evening to open the ice rink, visit with friends and neighbors, and truly prepare us to celebrate the Birth of Jesus as a community. The day after Thanksgiving is traditionally very busy with visitors in our great city, and 2022 was no different. The streets were packed and hundreds enjoyed exploring more of town with the Frankenmuth Christmas Shuttle as they made their way from Bronner's or Santa's Reindeer Farm to downtown for a glimpse of the tree show, or to find their favorite Frankenmuth fare. They continued all the way to Uptown North Main where many new shops awaited. Some parked there and took the shuttle to the next stop at the Christkindlmarkt which has had their biggest year yet! And for many visitors, the next shuttle stop at the Top of the Hill allowed them to discover an area that locals already love. The final stop, before it loops back to Weiss Street was on Flint Street, near Main Street, where riders could easily access the Ice Rink, River Place Shops, and many other shops and restaurants as well.
