17 EFR Middle School For the 2023-2024 school year, E. F. R. has a projected student count of 370 students. We have a few new families joining us, and we have some new staff members that you will be able to meet during our Meet and Greet on Tuesday, August 29 from 5:00 – 6:30pm. There are lots of great things happening at our school this year, too. EFR will be one of the only middle schools in Saginaw County which will be utilizing Xello, the career and college readiness program, from fifth through eighth grade. Also, for the first time this year, our eighth-grade students will have trimesters which will include German, Spanish, and Art History. In addition, we have a new behavioral intervention program called Navigate360 and additional intervention support staff. It is going to be a fantastic new school year! Frankenmuth High School FHS is projecting enrollment around 531 total students. In the 2022-23 school year, FHS students fared very well academically, with a 100% graduation rate for the Class of 2023 and 98% of our graduates having confirmed post-secondary plans in place prior to graduation. Although the spring 2023 P/SAT and Michigan Merit Exam results are still embargoed by the State at this time, we can report that in addition to performing superbly on these state-required assessments, 117 FHS students in grades 10-12 completed 193 national Advanced Placement (AP) Exams for college credit and were successful on 70% of those assessments! Over 100 students have again elected AP courses for the upcoming school year in 10 subjects that will be offered on site and a number of others that are offered virtually. Looking further ahead to the upcoming school year, we are excited to continue providing an array of exceptional learning opportunities within and outside of the high school that allow students to participate in programs and complete coursework that matches their interests and needs. On site, we have over 100 students taking FHS' Career and Technical Education courses in Accounting, Marketing, and Business. More than 20 students are planning to engage in a Work-Based Learning Program through FHS' offerings of Co-op, Internship, Police Cadet, and Teacher Cadet. This coming school year will be the first in which FHS offers Aviation as a subset of our Engineering course. Two students have selected this option, and during the school year, they will focus on completion of coursework leading to private pilot ground school or commercial drone licensure. We're also proud to partner with a variety of educational entities that provide our students with additional program opportunities. For the 2023-24 school year, we have six students enrolled at Great Lakes Bay Early College, six students enrolled in the Frankenmuth Insurance Leadership Academy through Tuscola Technology Center, three students enrolled in programs at Bay-Arenac Career Center, 70 students enrolled in programs at Saginaw Career Complex, and one student enrolled in a program at Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy. Many of these programs serve as the students' electives, constituting up to half of their school day and resulting in a variety of certification, licensure, and credit-earning opportunities.
