When Frankenmuth's settlers arrived over 175 years ago, there were no glistening lights, singing Christmas trees, or shiny ice rinks. There wasn't a large Christmas store to shop at or family style chicken dinners to feast on. Carriage rides were used for transportation, not for leisure tours around town. Logging jams in the Cass River were more common than traffic jams on Main Street. And while there may not have been the things we all enjoy throughout Frankenmuth today, there was courage. Courage to take the dangerous journey across the ocean to an unknown land. Courage to start a new life. Courage to be entrepreneurs and missionaries. Courage that is still prevalent today, especially at Christmastime. The Frankenmuth Christmas Experience started as a plan in 2020 to help make Christmastime in Frankenmuth more special during a year where we all needed a little extra joy. Over the last four years, the Frankenmuth The Courage of Christmas Christmas Experience has turned into a community-wide rally to bring the holiday magic to locals, surrounding communities, and visitors in a wondrous way. It is our deepest hope that this holiday season you and your family take the time to experience the pure bliss of Christmas in Frankenmuth; whether it's a lap around the shiny Frankenmuth Ice Rink, a few minutes to sing carols at the Spectacular Tree, or a drive around town to check out the twinkling lights. As you cherish the season, remember that the Christmas courage you experience around every corner all began with one courageous journey that was made over 2000 years ago. Amongst every light you see, song you hear, and moment you experience, there is an everlasting hope, an inspiring joy - that shines bright this time of year. #Frankenmuth 1-800-FUN-TOWN 3
