Rob's Bench
Officer Robert Neilson was laid to rest
May 16, 2023, after a lengthy battle with
cancer. Rob started his career as a
Frankenmuth Police Department (FPD)
Reserve Officer in 1995. After graduating
from the Delta Police Academy, he worked
in Frankenmuth, followed by a short time
at the Saginaw Police Department
returning to Frankenmuth, and towards
the end of his career as a part-time officer
in Birch Run.
There has been a memorial bench placed
in front of the Police Department in his
memory. This project was a result of a
partnership between The Rooted Beauty
Bar, FPD, Rob's sister Beth Neilson and her
co-workers at State Farm Andrea C. and
R&E Green.
