The 2022/2023 year of sales was a busy one! The conference season began in Niagara Falls at the Ontario Motorcoach Association conference. Out of the 23 sales appointments, there were a total of 10 confirmed trips on the books for the remainder of 2022 & 2023. This was a good indication of the Canadian group traffic that could be expected with the lifting of all Covid restrictions. January 31st - February 3rd, the Frankenmuth CVB in conjunction with the GLBR CVB, hosted 13 tour operators on an American Bus Association (ABA) pre-FAM tour. The four days were packed full of tours, meals, and experiences in Frankenmuth, Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland. The FAM ended in Detroit at the ABA annual convention, where the Frankenmuth booth was front and center on the showfloor! Our ABA booth caught the attention of many with the soft pretzels, butterhorns, taffy, and personalized ornaments. In addition to the countless conversations at the booth with tour operators, CVBs, and other industry professionals, there were 39 sales appointments. Motorcoach sales conferences continued in March at Midwest Marketplace in Wisconsin Dells with 42 sales appointments. The meetings market continued to gain momentum in 2022/2023 with an increase of meeting leads and engagement at industry events including Destination MI Lunch and Learn and MSAE Annual Conference. We saw an increase in company/corporate retreats and outings, as Frankenmuth is the perfect family-friendly destination. In addition to the momentum from the meetings market, Girl and Boy Scout groups continued to gain momentum as Frankenmuth greeted hundreds of scouts throughout the year!
