12 List Elementary School As summer draws to a close, we are thrilled to welcome you into to the 2024-25 school year at List Elementary School! The beginning of the school year is always a special time filled with excitement, new opportunities, and the promise of growth and learning. We are dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging environment for all our students, and we can't wait to see their smiling faces back in the classrooms on the first day, September 3, 2024. Our Meet & Greet took place on Wednesday, August 28, from 6:00-7:00 pm. Thank you to those you joined us to meet our staff, see your child's classroom, drop off school supplies, complete emergency contact, medication and volunteer forms, and check out our incredible facilities. We believe that open communication between school and home is vital for student success. Our teachers and staff are always here to answer questions and provide support. Please ensure your contact information is up-to-date in Skyward to receive all school communications. We will continue using SchoolStatus Connect to keep everyone updated this year. We encourage parents and community members to get involved. Join our PTO, volunteer in classrooms, or participate in school events such as Harvest Hoedown, Santa's Workshop, and Popcorn Fridays. Your involvement enriches our school community and enhances the educational experience for our students. Here's to a fantastic year of learning and growth! E.F. Rittmueller Middle School For the 2024-2025 school year, E. F. Rittmueller has a projected student count of 368. We have a few new families joining us, and we have some new staff members that you may have met at our Meet and Greet on Tuesday, August 27, from 5:00–6:30 pm. There are lots of great things happening at our school this year, as well. EFR will continue to utilize Xello from 5th – 8th grade, so that all students in Frankenmuth can learn about careers, college, military, and vocational options. We also are lucky to have School Resource Officer, Jeremy Teddy, located in our building. He has gone through TEAM (Teaching, Education, and Mentoring) training, and he will share some of his knowledge with students in the classroom. EFR students will be using a new online program called IXL. Math, social studies, and science classes will be utilizing IXL to help target standards and help extend student learning. Our ELA classes received new curriculum last year, and they are excited to dive into Wonders (5th grade) and Study Sync (6th-8th grade). It is going to be a fantastic new school year! Frankenmuth High School The building is getting ready for the return of our Eagles, and construction is underway in the gym lobby as that space is renovated and made ADA compliant. This project is part of the sinking funds that are provided through the millage; these funds were part of the Ballot Renewal that passed on August 6th. Our students have elected a wide variety of programs and learning opportunities this school year, with more than 100 sophomores, juniors, and seniors electing Advanced Placement coursework, more than 60 students electing Dual Enrollment coursework, and more than 70 students enrolled in programs like Career and Technical Education with Bay-Arenac Career Center, Saginaw Career Complex, and Great Lakes Bay Early College. Each year, we look forward to our seniors' experiential learning projects, completed as a portion of their AP/English 12, which will be showcased on Monday, April 21, 2025, and is open to the public from 3:00-4:30 pm. During this event, seniors are on-hand with a poster visual aid regarding their experiential learning in a field of their interest. This learning can take many forms, including but not limited to, interviews, job shadowing, site-visits, and more. To get involved with the experiential learning program, please see below: Soaring into Success A Year in Review and Exciting Times Ahead for Frankenmuth Schools By Grant Hegenauer, Frankenmuth School District Superintendent Community members who are willing to serve as mentors for seniors who need to work with a professional to complete their experiential (12-15) hours are invited to share contact information using this link: https://bit.ly/4bYDEHm or by scanning the QR code: !!
