The Frankenmuth Wickson District Library is thrilled to announce our 2025 Summer Reading Program theme: "Color Our World"! This year, we invite you to embark on a vibrant journey of art and imagination, celebrating the many ways creativity enriches our lives. From painting and photography to crafts and community art projects, our summer lineup is packed with colorful inspiration for all ages. By Michelle Duclos Engaging Activities for Kids & Teens We've planned an exciting array of programs to keep young minds active and engaged throughout the summer. Babies & Toddlers: Special sensory activities designed to introduce little ones to the world of colors and textures. Storytime at the River Place Shops: Enjoy tales in a beautiful outdoor setting, bringing books and storytelling to life. Read with Frank: Our beloved reading dog is back! Children can practice their reading skills in a fun and supportive environment. Tween & Teen Programming (Tuesdays & Thursdays): From interactive art projects to hands-on creative workshops, there's something for every young artist and reader. Thursday Colorful Adventures: These programs will take kids and teens beyond the library walls to explore color in different environments. Activities will include photography workshops, tie-dying creations, and interactive art experiences that make learning fun and engaging. Creative Fun for Adults Adults, we haven't forgotten about you! This summer, dive into a variety of engaging workshops and experiences, including: Photography Workshops: Learn the basics of capturing color and light in your own artistic way. MSU Extension Summer Food Safety: Explore the best practices for keeping your summer meals safe and fresh. 4th Friday Crafts: Tap into your artistic side with hands-on craft sessions designed for all skill levels. Community-Wide Creativity Our summer reading program isn't just about individual participation—it's about coming together as a community to color our world! Join us in these exciting collaborative projects: Mini Art Show: Show off your creative talents in a community-wide art exhibition at the library. Puzzle Competition: Challenge your friends and family to a race against the clock in this friendly yet competitive event. Community Afghan: Contribute a knitted or crocheted square to a beautiful collective creation. Dozen Dahlia Growing Competition: Put your gardening skills to the test and see who can cultivate the most dazzling dahlia display! Let's Make This Summer a Work of Art!
