At the high school level, the recent integration of SME PRIME, a specialized program designed to prepare students for high-demand technical careers, showcases the district's commitment to real-world readiness. Students now have access to advanced, industry-recognized equipment, including a Stratasys 3D printer and a FANUC Robot Arm. ese tools, coupled with comprehensive training for educators, equip students with practical skills in emerging fields, enhancing their in-school preparation and their post-graduation opportunities. With the SME PRIME additions this year, students can experience manufacturing and engineering principles firsthand, engaging in projects that mirror the real-world demands of these sectors. e district and SME Prime have prioritized continuous professional development for teachers working with these tools, ensuring they can guide students effectively. is hands-on approach to learning not only strengthens technical skills but also fosters problem-solving abilities, creativity, and collaboration, preparing students for a seamless transition into technical careers or further education. Across the district, Frankenmuth educators and students are exploring the capabilities and potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to further personalize and enrich learning. Programs like Quizizz allow for customized study and review sessions, tailored assessments, and accommodations for students needing specialized support. By integrating AI-driven platforms, the district can offer focused, adaptive learning opportunities that meet each student's unique needs. To ensure staff are fully equipped to utilize these tools, regular training sessions are held during the aernoons of the monthly early dismissal days. Earlier this fall, Mark Lyons from the Saginaw Regional Educational Media Centers shared information and opportunities provided by REMC, including AI use, VR Goggle programs, and more with K-12 instructional staff. In partnership with Mr. Lyons and REMC, the Frankenmuth School District's Technology Team has established participation in a pilot program with MagicSchoolAI. is initiative aims to increase access to AI-based teaching and learning tools, keeping Frankenmuth at the forefront of educational technology and enhancing student engagement through innovative methods. e commitment to professional development extends beyond district lines, with staff attending conferences like the AI Summit in Lansing and the MACUL Conference in Detroit. ese events provide valuable networking opportunities and introduce fresh ideas that educators bring back to share with colleagues. rough these initiatives, Frankenmuth School District continues to build a forward-thinking educational environment, preparing students to thrive in a technology-driven world.
