During the pandemic, the FCVB created a plan to enhance the Christmas Experience which has helped to not only sustain the most magical time of the year in Frankenmuth, but grow the 4th quarter to be the busiest time in the history of the destination as well. And with that came the beloved Frankenmuth Ice Rink, which is owned and managed by the FCVB. The Ice Rink is a perfect example of how tourism dollars have sustained this local benefit that provides hundreds of local families an opportunity to have outdoor recreation all winter. This type of facility normally wouldn't be feasible in a small town if not for the influx of visitors dollars to help sustain it. And in the future, the FCVB is excited to help bring another healthy community resource through the power of tourism. The CVB has been working with its governing bodies to lay the groundwork for a Tourism Economic Development project unlike anything the CVB has done before. As you may have read in the article on page #10, the FCVB is leading the development of a Sports Complex that will not only attract sports tourism, but will be an incredible asset to our local community. It is a tourism-powered project with the community at its heart. We are truly blessed to be able to use the resources of the tourism industry to help grow our economy in a way that aligns with community values.
