LIST ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ARE SOARING
INTO THE SCIENCE OF READING
A
t List Elementary, our
youngest Eagles are taking
flight with a renewed focus on literacy. This fall, our
school launched Magnetic Foundations in grades Kâ2
and Magnetic Reading in grades 3â4, two literacy
programs grounded in the science of reading.
Teachers across
all grade levels
have leaned into
this shi with
professional
learning, fidelity
checks, and
shared planning
time to ensure
a consistent, research-based approach. Classrooms
are filled with students actively engaged in reading
by sounding
out words,
breaking apart
phonemes, and
diving into rich
discussions
about what they
read.
This focus on foundational skills and deep reading
comprehension reflects the district's commitment to
equipping students with the tools they need to read,
think, and communicate with purpose.
