This is a friendly reminder that the City's Winter REVISED Parking Ordinance will be in effect, imposing a 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM street parking prohibition from December 1st to March 31st. The Restriction Details The revised ordinance prohibits the parking of any vehicle on a city street between the hours of 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM during the designated winter period of December 1st through March 31st. Please note this is a change from previous years, as the restricted period has been shortened by 60 days to better serve the needs of our community while still ensuring public safety. Purpose: Snow Removal and Public Safety The primary reason for this restriction is to facilitate efficient snow removal. Clear streets are essential for the plow crews to safely and effectively clear snow and ice curb-to-curb, ensuring your neighborhood streets are passable after a snowfall. However, the ordinance is also critical for public safety, particularly during these winter months: • Emergency Vehicle Access: Cleared streets ensure that police, fire, and emergency medical ser- vices (EMS) vehicles have unobstructed access to every home, which can be vital when mere min- utes can make a difference. • Visibility and Line of Sight: Vehicles parked on the street can create blind spots for drivers, especially when snow banks accumulate. Removing parked cars improves driver visibility and helps prevent accidents involving both vehicles and pedestrians. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this ordinance, as it helps keep our streets safe and clear for everyone throughout the winter season. By Don Mawer, Frankenmuth City Police Chief Important Notice to Residents Regarding Street Parking Ordinance 3 The Frankenmuth Chamber & CVB's Annual Kickoff Dinner will be held at Uptown North Main on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
