The Muth Community Players presented their production
of Oliver The Musical with a "steampunk" twist in February
to over 1,800 theatre goers. It takes a small village to
successfully launch a large production. Starting their
rehearsals in November, a cast of 75, students and
adults alike, performed with Muth Community Players
along with a pit orchestra of 20, under the direction
FHS Band Director Eric Clauder. The production was
directed by Eric Lewis Johnson, along with Vocal
Director Greg Austin, and Choreographer Megan
MacIntosh. Truly a community theatre program,
set construction volunteers spent over 150
hours creating an orphanage,
back alleys, and even London
Bridge. Nicholas Osburn and
Carrie Johnson provided the
direction for the set design.
Led by Pam Williams,
volunteers logged 100
hours to ensure that
the cast costumes
looked both authentic
and fun. Behind
the scenes, Bonnie
VanVoorhees ensured
that the smallest
details were in order.
Tickets, concessions,
hospitality rooms, and
even room parents
were provided. She politely deferred the credit to
the many theatre friends that made this possible.
The day after Oliver The Musical closed, she started
planning for the 2019 production!
That's a Wrap: Oliver The Musical
