Signs by Crannie will install the signage package completing the Palmer Gateway Arch beginning on Monday, April 9, 2018. Crannie is a subcontractor for William Bronner and Sons. Installation of the remaining signage elements will require closure of M-83 between Townline Road and Weiss Street. Detours are the same as those used when the arch was first installed. Two detours, one for trucks and one for cars, will be in place beginning April 9. Travel detours will remain in place Monday through Friday of that week, opening to through traffic Friday night. Truck traffic will be detoured using Birch Run Road, Dixie Highway and Genesee Street. The detour for automobiles uses M-83 to Townline to Dehmel to Flint to Jefferson. All vehicles are discouraged from using Eischer Road. Crannie's crews will work long-days in hopes of finishing within the week. Should additional work be needed after the first week's closure, the road will close again on Monday, April 16, as needed. Visit www.frankenmuthcity.com/arch for more information about the Arch project. If you want to be added to an email list for updates on the project, road closures and detours, contact Sheila Stamiris of the City of Frankenmuth at sstamiris@frankenmuthcity.com.
