Daniel Walter has been a long-standing member of the Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau as a professional architect. In addition to his professional commitment to our organization, he was an important player in many of the building projects that occurred during Annee's leadership. She relied on his expertise oen and he rarely ever sent her a bill for services. For example, when the red roof was being planned for the building, he advised that it couldn't be actual red tiles due to the weight, without constructing additional support. And then proceeded to assist in finding alternate sources that would work and provide the Bavarian touches they were seeking. His skills, time and talents have touched many special projects throughout the community including the Rummel Insurance building. He is also a member of Rotary and can be found at many local events and fundraisers supporting the community. We are excited to welcome Dan Walter as an Honorary Member to the Frankenmuth Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau. Daniel Walter William G. Rummel and Annee M. Rummel, PH.D. have served the Frankenmuth community as a team and with their individual respective talents for decades. While each has made unique individual contributions, they oen relied on each other to complete a project or event for the beerment of Frankenmuth and the Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau. Annee's leadership for over 16 years as the President/CEO of our organization helped to solidify many programs that are still an important part of what we do today. She was instrumental in beginning a number of Frankenmuth's most successful festivals, which she and her staff personally operated for a number of years, including the Frankenmuth Oktoberfest and World Expo of Beer. Her team, including her husband, helped to reconstruct the old water works building into a more suitable office space that still serves us today. She also led the effort for Frankenmuth to earn the responsibility of managing locally collected room tax dollars for advertising, marketing and providing services to the visiting public. Her service and the stories could fill a book on their own. William has carried on a family legacy of community service through the Jaycees, which his father helped begin, and Rotary which his grandfather helped begin. He was also an active member and Past President of the Civic Events Council. Professionally, he also carried on the family business of photography and used his skills graciously to assist where the community needed. His business, Rummel Studios was a loyal member of our organization for his entire career. He William & Annee Rummel 2017 honorees would also oen be found using his service club connections and skills donating his time freely and quietly to get things done that Annee was working on at the Chamber. For all of their combined service, we are pleased to be able to welcome William and Annee as Honorary Members of the Frankenmuth Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau. 16
