10 Discussion had been brewing for a number of years in the Chamber board room via various committees about a couple of issues. They weren't urgent issues and even sometimes vague in detail with no real, obvious solution. However, a couple years ago, clarity began to take shape and one issue that was identified was how to pass on knowledge as new generations begin to lead our City into the future. Another key issue was to educate, especially front-line, employees in the community about the place they are working. There are many things involved in making this community successful. The following questions began to help guide the process. "How can we compile and share information about what makes Frankenmuth special with others?" "What information is most important?" "Can we use it to educate employees who don't live in Frankenmuth?" and "How about people who have lived here all their lives but aren't aware of all the new stuff?" and "Wouldn't it be a great way for new residents to become familiar with their new home?" This free online community education program is a fun way to learn more about Frankenmuth. It is designed to encourage people to expand their knowledge on key areas that combine to make this community so special. The Frankenmuth Chamber of Commerce Promotion's Committee led the effort to build this exciting new community resource, but there were dozens of volunteers that participated in focus groups to help establish the content for the program. A grant from the Frankenmuth Community Foundation provided the resources needed to build the website at www.frankenmuthcertified.com which houses the quiz style program. It is expected to be used by local employers to help employees in Frankenmuth be more knowledgeable about the community they work or live in. It's a great resource for anyone that is new to Frankenmuth and even for those whom have lived here all their lives. If you think you already know all there is to know about Frankenmuth… it's time to prove it! If you know you have more to learn, this program was built with you in mind too. It is easy to play along. There are 5 simple steps, and in the end you'll be recognized with a certificate and future opportunities to be honored. And the real prize, being able to share fun facts and knowledge with your friends and neighbors!
