Keep your purse or wallet close to you. We recommend keeping belongings like a phone or wallet in your front pocket as it can easily slip out of a back pocket or give an inviting opportunity for pick-pocketers. If you carry a bag, consider using a cross body purse. Not only does this free up your hands for shopping, but it also keeps your purse close to you at the same time. Do not leave personal belongings in a shopping cart unattended. Turning your back on your purse, even for a split second, can make you vulnerable to purse snatching. 4 8 Shop Smart, Shop Safe. Walking in the Pavilion is a great way to stay fit without having to worry about weather, traffic hazards, loose dogs etc. The Pavilion is not heated so dress appropriately. There are restrooms available and benches if you would like to rest during your workout. One lap around the Pavilion equals 1/9 of a mile. Strollers are welcome, however, roller-blades bikes, etc. are not allowed. During inclement weather, if Frankenmuth Schools are closed due to weather concerns, Kern Pavilion will be closed as well. Read these tips to help guide you in shopping safe this winter. Go into the store with a plan. This helps cut down on time you are out of the house and in a store. When leaving stores, take a quick glance at the parking lot and your car. If you see something suspicious or feel unsafe, you can always ask an employee/security to walk you to your vehicle. Call 911 if you feel you are in danger. Be aware of busy shopping times and try to visit during slower hours to avoid standing in line. Weekends are the busiest time for shoppers so, avoid weekend shopping if possible. Remember, curbside pickup may be an option for some stores. Avoid shopping alone during busy shopping hours and at night. We recommend shopping with a partner or a group if you are able to. Not only does this help increase your safety, but it also makes shopping more fun! 1 5 2 3
