including: Events & Promotions, Public
Space, and The Rink.
Events & Promotions focus is on
all of the special events hosted by
private businesses and organizations
such as the ChristKindlMarkt at the
Frankenmuth Farmer's Market, which
made the decision to move the event
up to their Market home, or the
Letters to Santa stations. This group
is also refining how the promotional
materials will be improved this year.
The Public Spaces group is focused
on rearranging some of the public
space improvements that were
created last year based on feedback
that was received and other logistical
factors. This includes the Christmas
Tree that was in Zehnder Park last
year, which features a music and light
show multiple times a day. The tree
will be moving locations this year to
make way for the focus of the last
committee which is a new ice rink.
Located in Zehnder Park, the Ice Rink
is the most-exciting new amenity
being added in 2021. It is a fully cooled
operation that is anticipated to have
consistent ice from mid-November
through mid-February. There will be a
ticket and rental skate booth, as well
as several benches for putting on
and taking off skates. There will be
appropriate mats for walking with
ice skates and a Zamboni that will
resurface the ice multiple times a
day. The hours will likely be 4pm
to 10pm, Monday-Thursday; 11am-
11pm, Friday & Saturday; and 11am-
9pm on Sundays. These times may
be adjusted based on demand.
Rates have been set at $10 to skate
and $3 for skate rental and guests
may bring their own skates if they
have them. A mid-week pass will be
offered to locals so they can enjoy
this attraction in their hometown. It
will operate 7 days a week for public
skating nearly the entire season.
