15 Walking in Harvey Kern Frankenmuth Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that Harvey E. Kern Community Pavilion in Heritage Park will be open again this winter for walking and jogging. Due to construction, we don't have a starting date yet. Once we are open, walking will be Monday through Friday 8:30am to 1:30pm. We will post the date once it is scheduled on our Facebook page, website, and in the Frankenmuth News. You are also welcome to call our department at 989- 652-3440. Frankenmuth Parks & Recreation promotes healthy and active lifestyles, encouraging people to make walking part of their daily routine. The arrival of winter doesn't mean your daily fi tness routine needs to change. Walking in the Pavilion is a great way to stay fi t without having to worry about weather, traffi c hazards, loose dogs etc. The Pavilion is not heated so dress appropriately. There are restrooms available and benches if you would like to rest during your workout. One lap around the Pavilion equals 1/9 of a mile. Strollers are welcome, however, rollerblades, bikes, etc. are not allowed. During inclement weather, if Frankenmuth Schools are closed due to weather concerns, Kern Pavilion will be closed as well. Come join us for an evening of fun in the water. Passes are $20 per person. Sun, January 23, 2022 4-8pm Sun, March 13, 2022 4-8pm Sun, April 24, 2022 4-8pm The deadline to purchase tickets is the Thursday prior to each evening. Youth age 12 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets must be purchased from the Frankenmuth Parks and Recreation offi ce. Snowman/ Sculpture Competition We want to see your snow building skills! Go outside, get creative and celebrate Snowfest! Get together with friends or family – be creative and have fun. Participation is easy. Build your work of art in your front yard, take a photo of your creation, and submit it to Frankenmuth Parks and Recreation on Facebook or via email at Parks@Frankenmuthcity.com. Deadline for submission is Friday, January 28th at 5pm. Prizes will be awarded to the best snow creations in town.
