We helped to forge transformational changes around the Holiday Celebration which earned a Pure Michigan Award for Innovative Collaboration at this year's Governor's Conference on Tourism. It all started in the height of the pandemic (Fall of 2020) with an amazing musical tree show and continues to flourish following the second season which included a successful first year of the Frankenmuth Ice Rink. The Christmas Experience plan quickly became a year round part of our workplan. The Annual Report reflected that 2021 saw our festivals & events come back in creative ways and demand for travel began to soar by last summer. As a well-known destination founded on faith and family, Frankenmuth was naturally a very popular place for people to visit with all their pent up travel desires. As visitors continued to flock to our community, our businesses struggled with employee shortages that even caused some businesses to shorten hours or close certain days of the week, a challenge many are still grappling with today. It was certainly a rollercoaster of a year. Yet, we are grateful for the abundant Blessings in our community. While many of our businesses remain exhausted, the successes are plentiful and give us great Hope as we look ahead with continued optimism. Because another one of our Frankenmuth super powers is collaboration and we know that "Together We Prosper."
