LISA HUBBARD COLIN MAURER ZAK MCCLELLEN BRANDON MULLER KAREN UEBLER LISA WOODKE Lisa Hubbard, a special educa- tion teacher for Birch Run Area Schools, was elected to the Board in 2022. She and her husband, Pastor Brad (St. Lorenz) have 5 children ranging from ages 9-17. "My passion and purpose is serving students and families. I also have a unique combination of education and experience that can help make a positive contribution to our schools. I am looking forward to building upon the great things Frankenmuth Schools has already done and leading alongside so many great community members." Colin Maurer, a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones, was elected to the Board in 2018. He currently serves as assistant contract negotiator for the Board. Colin resides in the City of Frankenmuth with his wife, Jillian, and Finn, their son who is a kindergartener at List Elementary. "Four years ago, I felt led to serve on the School Board as I wanted to ensure my son, and every student in our District, would have a similar education and experience that I did as a child. My wife and I feel that our education and upbringing in Frankenmuth well-prepared us with the tools we needed to be successful in college and in our careers. I will continue to be an advocate for school safety, fiscal responsibility, mental health awareness, and academic excellence in our school community." Zak McClellan, chocolate and fudge maker by day and a bus boy by night, was elected to the Board in 2022. Zak resides in the City of Frankenmuth with his wife, Korina, and daughter, Stella who is 15 months old. Zak is a graduate of the Frankenmuth public school system. "I decided to run for school board because I feel that our world lacks strong moral character in leadership. Someone who will do what they say, and uphold standards that are set before them respectfully. I felt it was time to lead by example and get involved to support the great school system I grew up in, to ensure it stays the same great school system for our community." Brandon Muller, partner at Clark Hill PLC, has been a Board member since 2015 and currently serves as president of the Board. He is also the lead contract negotiator for the Board. Brandon and his wife, Andrea, live in Frankenmuth and have two children: Cate, a junior at Frankenmuth High School, and Jack, a sixth-grader at E.F. Rittmueller Middle School. "I initially decided to pursue a position on the Board because I wanted to find a way to give back to the community that I love, and I believed that I could make a positive impact on the District and its continued success. I feel that school boards should be accessible and transparent to stakeholders and should make decisions that are reflective and representative of the views of the community as a whole, and that take every student in the District into account." Karen Uebler, currently the Commander of Frankenmuth American Legion Post 150, was elected to the Board in 2013 and serves as vice president. She has four children and six grandchildren and resides in Frankenmuth Township with her husband, Wayne, on their Sesquicentennial farm. "In 2010, I began attending our district's board meetings after addressing the board about cuts in staff and programs. After two years of listening and learning how a school board works, I decided to run for an open seat in the 2012 election." "I am a lifelong learner and believe education is the path to acquiring knowledge and skills that help individuals to become successful members of society. Being a board member allows me to make decisions that ensure the students in our district receive the best education possible. " Lisa Woodke, Sustainability Director for Star of the West Milling Company, was elected to the Board in 2022. She is married to David Woodke and a mother of three; Mitchell (6th Grade), Calvin (2nd grade), and Hazel (Kindergartener). "I wanted a way to give back to the school and community, because I am a firm believer in 'to whom much is given, much is required'. We have received much support and friendship from this community, and I wanted to repay that kindness. With our three kids in the school district, along with many other students, family and friends that attend Frankenmuth, I knew that being a voice to represent those student/people groups was something I would be proud of." 13
