page 3 june 2014 chamberc h a t Greetings from the Visitor Center. The nice weather has created welcome foot traffic at the Visitor Center. The long winter is now past and everyone here is ready to answer visitor's questions. The brochure racks are full of information for travelers. Be sure to call the office at 652-6106 to make sure we have a supply of your business information. We try to stay current with member information, but need your help in continuing the best benefit of your membership with us. Brochures, flyers for events and coupons can be dropped off at the Visitor Center Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm; Friday 8am-8pm; Saturday 10am-6pm; and Sunday noon to 5pm. Travelers are eager for information. Let us help you in promoting your business. I have been busy in other areas promoting Frankenmuth. I set up a display at the Dundee Welcome Center for the month of May. I attended the Novi Women's Show on May 3rd. The Frankenmuth Coupon Books were very popular at the Show! I also attended the One Tank Trip Expo on May 18th, and the Michigan Cares for Tourism clean-up project at Belle Isle in Detroit on May 8 and 9. I painted with many DNR officers, Governor Synder and many other industry- driven volunteers much information was traded about where Frankenmuth is and what we have to offer travelers coming to our area. Many positive memories were shared with me, which made the painting project a joy to do. I also volunteered for the Bringin' Back the 80's Festival and the World Expo of Beer. As people passed through admission or as I filled tasting cups the smiles and laughter make my volunteer time well spent. I look forward to the Volkslaufe and the Michigan Bier Celebration. I encourage members to participate in some way. Be a sponsor, be a runner, encourage your front line employees to participate, have a 'Wear your German Day' but most of all have FUN doing it. Prost!
