Haley's Story: Frankenmuth Insurance Academy '16-'17 I was the first and only Frankenmuth student to enroll in the Frankenmuth Insurance Academy, and I did not think that I was going to enjoy my time there as much as I did. Before I signed up for the Insurance Academy, I knew that I wanted to attend college for something business related. Completion of the program provided credits from Northwood University, and this was appealing. "To be completely honest, the Insurance Academy was my favorite part of high school." Initially, I did not know what to expect because I would have to meet a new group of people. However, that was just another reason that made my experience so much better. Our class was held on the Frankenmuth Insurance campus where we were given the opportunity to learn about the various departments through hands-on job shadow experiences. These real life situations reinforced my decision to enter the insurance world. Our class of ten allowed the Northwood University professor to personalize our education. When I tell people about my senior year accomplishments they act surprised, but the professor made everything seem so easy to understand, and enabled us to earn several insurance credentials and nine credits at Northwood University through this mentoring program. He shared helpful advice and tips that not only benefited me during my coursework, but also will be helpful in college and my career. With the support of the teacher, Frankenmuth Insurance and Northwood University, I made the decision to study Insurance Risk Management at Northwood University and was offered the opportunity to work in a prestigious summer internship at Frankenmuth Insurance. - By Haley Otter 2018 Frankenmuth School District Hall of Fame - Nominations Due 5/14/18 The Frankenmuth School District is seeking nominations for the 2018 Hall of Fame Awards.
