Social media is a massive channel for reaching potential visitors and this year, we leveraged our large followings to our advantage with numerous Facebook/Instagram ad campaigns as well as highly targeted digital ads. Because social media channels have grown so rapidly, we focus a lot of time on creating engaging content for our pages. This year, we developed a few short "highlight" videos for some of our Summer festivals to share on social media which ended up receiving great engagement from our visitors and fans! Due to our success with social media advertising, our team was asked to give a presentation at a Society of Government Meeting Professionals Michigan Chapter meeting about how to maximize your exposure on social media. It was an incredible turnout with many people saying it was the best session on social media they'd ever aended. 128,054 page likes on the Frankenmuth Facebook page. Our most liked post was a blog post about the story of Bronner's which reached 258,860 people and had a total of 8,794 likes, 1,108 comments and 1,672 shares. 4,200 followers on Twier. Our top tweet earned 5,961 impressions and was a thank you tweet to MDOT for all their hard work. 10,695 Instagram followers. Our most popular photo was a photo of the Holz Brücke (Covered Bridge) lit up at night in the Spring. social media 8
