Friday Fun Nights returned for its 11th season, seeing a total of 97 performances by 50 performers/groups over its 15-week run. This very successful year was made possible by the generous donations from 51 supporting businesses. The Play on the Platz game area also made its return for the 2nd year, giving visitors and locals a place to hangout and play games from May through October. In 2022-2023 the Frankenmuth Ice Rink opened its doors for its second season on November 17th, 2022 and operated until February 28th, 2023. Building on the success of the first year, the Frankenmuth CVB purchased the entire rink system, an investment that will continue to support the Frankenmuth Christmas Experience for years to come. The second season was very successful, seeing over 17,700 skaters and selling 384 season passes. Just like the first season, this season could not have been possible without the support of our 25 advertising partners, including our premier partners Huntington Bank, Schaefer & Bierlein, and Mike Young. 2022 also brought the third year of The Frankenmuth Christmas Experience. The original campaign, launched in 2020, was designed as a three-year plan to help spread out the events, activities, and experiences of Christmas throughout the holiday season. The original plan included the Spectacular Christmas Tree (added in 2020), Frankenmuth Ice Rink (added in 2021), and a German Pyramid Tower as a 2022 addition. While the original German Pyramid plan did not pan out due to everchanging building costs, Frankenmuth Industrial helped bring re-imagined pieces of German Christmas decor to life. Two Weihnachtspyramide's (German Pyramid's) were created and placed at Star Park and The Frankenmuth Farmers Market and a Schwibbogen (Candle Arch) was placed in Zehnder Park. The new additions added a unique Frankenmuth flair to the decorations around town and paired well with the other returning Christmas Experience items including the Stop and Snap Challenge, Christmas Guide and Map, Santa Letter Stations, and the Christmas Shuttle. The 2022 Christmas season was a huge success and brought joy to many! 12 2022
